PHILADELPHIA, PA — April 6th, 2026 — Phia Health has been awarded funds as part of the Perinatal Action Collaborative's (PAC) Implementation Grants through the federal Maternal Health Innovation Program. These funds were provided through the Pennsylvania Department of Health. The grant will support the statewide rollout of Phia's AI-powered virtual maternal health platform — designed to deliver full wraparound perinatal care to women across Pennsylvania, including those in underserved and rural communities.
Closing the Gap in Perinatal Care
Maternal mental health conditions are the leading complication of pregnancy in the United States, yet the majority of cases go undetected and untreated. Phia Health was built to address this gap directly — not as a point solution for a single condition, but as a comprehensive care infrastructure spanning the entire perinatal period.
Phia's platform integrates validated behavioral health screening tools including the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS), PHQ-9, and GAD-7 directly into the care workflow — at the point of care, not retrospectively through claims. When clinical thresholds are met, the platform triggers immediate care coordination, specialist referrals, and provider communication, ensuring no patient falls through the cracks between appointments.
What the Grant Enables
Through the PAC Implementation Grant, Phia will:
Expand OB practice partnerships across Pennsylvania, with priority focus on practices serving Medicaid and high-risk populations
Deploy AI-assisted care coordination workflows for perinatal care teams, reducing administrative burden and improving response time for high-acuity patients
Integrate with managed care organizations (MCOs) and payers to embed Phia into existing coverage and care management structures
Report outcomes aligned with Pennsylvania's maternal health quality metrics, contributing to the statewide evidence base
Built for the Way Care Actually Works
Unlike platforms that rely on self-reported data or post-delivery claims, Phia operates at the practice level — surfacing risk early, coordinating care in real time, and keeping providers, care coordinators, and patients connected throughout the perinatal journey.
"This funding is validation that comprehensive, technology-enabled perinatal care is the direction Pennsylvania is moving," said [Name], Co-Founder of Phia Health. "We built Phia to meet mothers where they are — and this grant lets us reach far more of them."
