Phia’s AI uses a bounded mathematical risk stratification engine that pulls from onboarding data, chat interactions, and vitals to detect early signs of postpartum complications. It runs probability-based risk scoring across conditions like hemorrhage, pre-eclampsia, cardiomyopathy, infection, and mental health crises, then alerts our clinical team.
Is Phia’s AI replacing clinicians?
No. The AI is a triage and detection layer—it surfaces risk signals and patterns faster than humans alone, but all escalations are reviewed and managed by licensed nurses, OBs, or pediatric providers.
How accurate is the AI?
Our models use bounded logistic functions with thresholds for CRITICAL and HIGH alerts. Accuracy improves through continuous learning, but every alert is paired with a human-in-the-loop process to prevent false positives or misses.
What data sources does the AI use?
It analyzes structured inputs (BP readings, vitals, intake forms) and unstructured signals (symptom descriptions in chat/journal), then applies decay and trajectory detection to weight recent symptoms more heavily.
