I'm a physician and a lactation consultant. For years I watched the same story: a patient does everything right, comes to every appointment — and the thing that unravels her happens on a Tuesday night, three weeks before anyone is scheduled to see her. The screen we would have caught it with was sitting in a chart, waiting for a visit.
Obstetrics doesn't have an attention problem. It has a between problem. Practices are full, schedules are fixed, and the perinatal year doesn't wait for the next opening.
So we built the practice we kept wishing existed: one that watches continuously, answers when she reaches out, and brings a clinician the same day something changes — alongside her OB, never instead of them.
